How Is Eye Pressure Measured?
Eye pressure is measured using a quick, painless test called tonometry.
Depending on the method used, your eye care provider may:
- Gently touch the eye after applying numbing drops
- Use a small puff of air
- Measure pressure with specialized diagnostic equipment
However, measuring eye pressure alone isn’t enough to diagnose glaucoma.

- Visual field (peripheral vision) testing
- Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) imaging
- Corneal thickness measurements
- Gonioscopy to evaluate the drainage angle

Can High Eye Pressure Be Treated?

Laser Treatment

Can Vision Lost From Glaucoma Be Restored?
