About Dr. Breden
Dedicated to transforming lives impacted by chronic pain, Dr. Michael Breden brings cutting-edge treatments to the forefront of his distinguished career. Recognizing the unique battles each patient faces, he goes beyond medications and injections, fostering a comprehensive understanding of how chronic pain affects every aspect of life. Dr. Breden’s goal is pain alleviation and restoring a complete, vibrant life. A native of North Vancouver, BC, in his free time, Dr. Breden passionately explores his love for the ocean through fishing, boating, and scuba diving.
Dr. Breden completed an anesthesiology residency at McGill University and received his FRCPC in Anesthesiology from the Royal College in 2001. He also had additional training in interventional pain management at the University of Arizona. As of 2021, Dr. Breden has Royal College certification in Pain Medicine (FRCPC).
For over 20 years, Dr. Breden has been a driving force behind the Chilliwack Pain Clinic, offering expertise in pain medicine through a multidisciplinary and interventional approach. As a Clinical Assistant Professor at UBC, he shares his knowledge with medical students and residents. His clinical interests include assessing and treating patients with mTBI and Post Traumatic Headaches and collaborating with specialists in physiotherapy, kinesiology, neuropsychology, physiatry, and interventional radiology for patient-centric care.
