Dr. Ekhlassi spends most of his free time with his wife, Natalie, and their two dogs, Roscoe and Stella. Together, they enjoy hiking, paddling, travelling, and trying new restaurants.
Dr. Ekhlassi specializes in oculoplastic and reconstructive surgery and is board certified in ophthalmology in both Canada and the United States. He earned his medical degree at the University of Miami where he discovered his love for ophthalmology while rotating at the world-renowned Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. Dr. Ekhlassi completed his residency at Chicago’s John H. Stroger Hospital of Cook County. He continued on to subspecialty training in oculoplastic and reconstructive surgery through a prestigious ASOPRS fellowship in Detroit, Michigan .
As an ASOPRS fellow, Dr. Ekhlassi focused intensely on plastic and reconstructive surgery of the eyelids, orbit, and face, completing over 5300 surgeries and procedures within two years. He has authored several book chapters and research papers and has presented his work at a variety of ophthalmic and cosmetic surgery conferences.
